Our story
From a universe where rain falls into the sky and the line between dreams and waking has frayed comes Something in the Water, an East Coast Quarterly.
You should know a few things:
It is the goal of Something in the Water to investigate and publish the truth (if such a thing can be said to exist) about the nature of our world and the strangeness that now envelopes it.
It is the position of Something in the Water that the comet—known to the astronomical elite as Object c-86753-13, which struck the Atlantic Ocean (near the coast of Jacksonville, Florida) some months ago has begun to erode the laws of the ordinary. Since the impact event, our contributors have encountered the eerie, surreal, and melancholic with increasing frequency and poignance.
It is the intent of Something in the Water to make ripples of our own by cataloging these accounts. For it is these brushes with the unusual and the uncomfortable that push us to expand our understanding and perceive new truths about ourselves and each other.
Submissions are now open
Here we collect records of the uneasy, the uncategorizable, and the decidedly uncanny, holding them up for your examination. It is, after all, our world, and what you make of it is just as important as what we make of it.
These archives come from ourselves and from our contributors. We try to weed out the false stories, of course, but sometimes things slip through the cracks. You know how that is, don’t you?
Whatever the case may be, we are always looking for new readers and contributors. We accept submissions in any form.
